Stinker is the word you’re looking for, but that may not apply here, even if we are messing about with Cockney rhyming slang, With our dynamic duo Rich and Nadya in town to check out Giggling Squid, that extra ink may well come in handy. Were the notes at the table good? Or bad? Were they going to go overboard about it it? Or? Actually, I’ll stop there, these puns are making me queasy.

What did you order for starters?
Golden Money Bags, Pork Dumplings and Chicken Satay

What did you think of the starters?
The Golden Money Bags were to die for, crisp parcels of joy that melt in your mouth. The Chicken Satay was moist and full of flavour. The Pork Dumplings weren’t to our taste, but I ate them anyway.

What did you order for mains?
Chicken Pad Kee Mao, Massaman Chicken Curry with a side of Sticky Rice.

Thoughts on these?
Both mains delivered a delightful assortment of flavours and textures with just the right amount of spice. We always expect interesting and bright flavours when we eat Thai food and these dishes certainly delivered. We’ve never been to a Thai restaurant and not ordered sticky rice, yum!

How about dessert?
We shared a Mini Melting Heart Chocolate Dessert.

Again, thoughts?

We really didn’t have space for dessert, but we like to finish on something sweet every time, luckily they have these mini desserts; gooey, chocolatey goodness, never a bad thing for us.

What did you order to drink?
We fancied some cocktails so we went for a Spiced Coconut Pina Colada and a Samui Colada, yes, we like Pina Colada! These were a great twist on the classic drink, perfect accompaniments to our meal.

What was the atmosphere like?
The interior is fabulous, it’s great place to spend a couple of hours, it was just busy enough to not feel crowded. Our booth was really cosy – it’s a great dining experience.

What was the service like?

All the staff were friendly and attentive, a very welcoming arrival and helpful till we left.

Did you have to wait long in between servings?
Everything was served without delay, no complaints from us.

Do you think the bill was fair for the offering?
The prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food and drinks – would happily recommend to family and friends.

What were your thoughts overall?
We love Thai food, Giggling Squid is definitely near the top of our list to re-visit, there’s so much more on the menu we’d like to try. We’ll bring some friends along next time (just so we can try some of their dishes!).

So there you have it. Giggling Squid didn’t suck! See what I did there?

Sorry.
