A Cardiff author has published a high-stakes thriller that weaves together murder, betrayal, and international fraud in a story that stretches from the UK to the US.

Revenge From the Inside, the debut novel by Richard C Morgan, follows the desperate mission of a wrongly imprisoned man determined to clear his name. Described as ideal for fans of John Grisham and Lee Child, and is already generating interest among crime fiction enthusiasts.

At the heart of the story is Patrick Reade, a man serving eighteen years for the murder of his wife, Charlotte – a crime he claims he didn’t commit. When their son is adopted and taken to New York by a family friend, Reade suspects a deeper betrayal. His suspicions lead him to uncover a sprawling fraud scheme that not only financed a lavish lifestyle abroad but may also hold the key to unlocking the truth behind Charlotte’s death.

The story moves between prison life, courtroom memories and tense investigations, with the pace and atmosphere of a classic legal thriller. From the confines of his cell, Reade must piece together the evidence, rebuild trust with his estranged son, and race to expose the man responsible – before the truth is buried for good.

Morgan, who is based in Llandaff, says the novel was inspired by a vivid dream more than ten years ago.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the power of stories – in books, film and television,” he explains. “This idea came to me so clearly that I couldn’t ignore it. I started writing and didn’t stop. It became my first novel, and it’s surreal to see it finally going out into the world.”

Though the plot spans continents, Morgan is keen to root the novel’s promotion in his hometown. He is available for interviews and open to collaborating with local media, independent bookshops, and community book groups. Advance copies and competition paperbacks are available on request.

Revenge From the Inside is priced at £9.99. A digital edition is also expected to follow.

Readers looking for an intelligent, page-turning thriller that doesn’t let up should keep an eye on this one – especially those who like their suspense served with sharp twists and emotional weight.
