Cardiff travellers have been spoilt for choice this summer, as Cardiff Airport launched its biggest schedule yet. With more routes, more flights, and improved connections, the National Airport of Wales is making it easier than ever to head off on holiday or connect to the world.
Three major airlines are driving the growth.
Ryanair has introduced its largest summer programme from Wales, with direct flights to favourite sunspots including Alicante, Dublin, Faro, Malaga, and Tenerife.
TUI is serving 22 destinations with 45 weekly departures, giving holidaymakers plenty of flexibility for both beach escapes and city breaks.
Vueling is boosting its Cardiff schedule too, offering up to five weekly flights to Malaga and three to Alicante.
Connecting Cardiff to the world
Cardiff Airport now offers nearly 30 direct destinations, plus easy links to more than 150 global cities via Amsterdam. That means long-haul favourites such as Dubai, New York, Toronto, Singapore, and Hong Kong are all just one connection away.
A smoother passenger experience
The airport is also investing in passenger comfort. The new Next Generation Security Checkpoint has received excellent feedback, cutting down queues and making departures more relaxed.
It’s paying off — passenger numbers are already up 15% compared to last year, a clear sign of Cardiff’s growing demand for convenient flights.

Beyond the travel opportunities, Cardiff Airport is a key part of the Welsh economy, supporting more than 4,000 jobs and contributing over £200 million a year.
