The one-in-a-billion, VVVIP Gold Card will entitle the lucky winner and 11 of their friends to free Social Darts at Flight Club for life.
MORE PRIZES ALONG THE WAY
The big trip and Social Darts for life aren’t the only things up for grabs. From today, as the countdown to a billion truly kicks off, every Flight Club venue across the UK will be surprising and delighting guests with daily treats, from complimentary drinks to bar tabs.
CARDIFF’S SOCIALISING HABITS REVEALED
Over the last decade, having hosted more than 14.4 million people across 12 different cities in the UK alone, Flight Club knows a thing or two about the nation’s socialising habits.
As the billion darts mark approaches, today the Social Darts bar releases its ianaugural Flight Club Social Index revealing the lay of the land when it comes to going out and getting competitive.
The Index, based on Flight Club’s proprietary booking and gaming data, reveals some surprising insights into the socialising styles of the UK’s key cities, including Cardiff. The results for the Welsh capital highlight a community of Social Butterflies, with the people of Cardiff officially ranking as some of the most sociable in the UK – boasting the nation’s third-largest average group sizes.
The Competition Kings
Cardiff has landed in eighth place in the UK’s competitiveness rankings. Throwing 342 darts per hour, players in the Welsh capital are taking a more measured approach to the oche compared to the high-velocity play seen in Bristol, which leads the pack with over 400 darts per hour. While Cardiff is clearly focused on the fun, the city needs to pick up the pace if they want to climb up the rankings. After Bristol, Oxford and Cheltenham are currently taking second and third place in the competitive stakes.
The Home-by-10 Heroes
In a move that proves Cardiff knows how to balance a big night out with a productive morning after, the city places third in the Home-by-10-Heroes list. Ranking just behind Cheltenham and Newcastle for bookings between 5-8 pm, the people of Cardiff are masters of the high-impact, early-finish social. This is further highlighted by the city ranking seventh in the Late-Night Legends category (post-10 pm), proving that while they go big, they also know when to call it a night. Of course, Cardiff revellers may well be carrying on the party elsewhere, in which case, Flight Club clearly sets them up for a great night before continuing the good times into the later hours.
The Mid-Week Masters
Cardiff currently sits at 11th – second to last – in the Mid-Week Masters category for Tuesday-to-Thursday socialising. They also rank sixth in the Work Hard, Play Hard category for post-work Monday-to-Friday bookings. It seems that Cardiff likes to keep things steady during the working week and save the true energy for a big weekend blowout. At the other end of the scale, London and Newcastle continue to lead the charge for those who don’t let a school night slow them down.
The Social Butterflies
While they may be sensible with their timings, people in Cardiff are undeniably some of the most sociable in the UK. Cardiff places third in the Social Butterflies category, which ranks cities according to the average group size per booking. With only Bristol and Birmingham boasting bigger squads for their nights out, Cardiff proves that when they head to the oche, they do it with the whole team in tow. In contrast, cities like Liverpool and Oxford prefer to keep their circles much more intimate.
Cardiff’s Favourite Game
In Cardiff, and across every single UK city in fact, Demolition is revealed as Flight Club’s most-played game of the year. The fast-paced game sees players aim to demolish a virtual tower of blocks, reducing their score from 180 to zero. It’s one of seven games in total at Flight Club, including the brand-new Limbo, where, like the classic party game, players must go lower than the previous player.
The Social Super Stars
Every city has its stand-out-stars but it’s Andrea P who takes the top spot for Cardiff in the Social Super Stars, clocking up 36 visits to Flight Club. Manchester’s Ben W is crowned the nation’s most dedicated player, with an impressive 79 visits.
Steve Moore, CEO & Founder at Flight Club, said, “Reaching one billion darts is a massive moment for us. It’s a testament to every single guest who has stepped up to the oche to celebrate, compete, and have fun. We wanted to mark this with something truly epic – a trip to a Flight Club destination of your choice and free darts for life feels like the right way to thank the people who made this possible. We’ll be celebrating every single throw as we head towards the big one, and we can’t wait to see which city ends up claiming the honour of the billionth dart.”
